LEARN YOGA WITH AN INDIAN YOGI LIVE FROM INDIA

September is often seen as the new January. As we get back to work and routine  it can get stressful, especially in these unusual and uncertain times. This month start a personal transformation using techniques from Yoga to change your habits.  Whether you're an experienced yogi, a yoga teacher or a new to yoga learning with an Indian teacher is an incredible opportunity. Often the focus of Western Yoga classes is the physical postures (asana) but yoga is far more then that! In these workshops Aziz will guide your through special techniques of sound, breath work, posture and dealing with stress. These classes will not be like a usual yoga class-no experience necessary. 

YOGA FUNDAMENTALS COURSE

A structure can only be as strong as its foundation. Today, many people are teaching and practising Yoga without an understanding of its basics and Fundamentals. It has become more of an exercise routine than a total way of being, which it is. This 4 module course endeavours to shed some light on fundamentals, which even advanced teachers/practioners can benefit from.

MODULE 1

SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 6th

11 am-12.15      £10

The spine is a very essential part of the human structure. It is attached to the major internal organs. Spiritually, it houses the Solar and Lunar channels, (roughly corresponding to the sympathetic and para sympathetic nervous system) and the Sushumna (the channel responsible for enlightenment, through which Kundalini flows.). It must be kept healthy and supple.

a) Learn the 4 different spinal movements which must be done to keep the spine flexible and healthy. A minimum of 3 minutes is required.

MODULE 2

We can live without food for weeks, without water for days; but not more than a few minutes without breath. Breath is intimately linked with longevity, good physical health, mental focus, emotional stability and spiritual progress. We breathe 24 hours a day and yet most of us do not breathe correctly. In fact, we are taught to breathe incorrectly. Even in advanced Yogic pranayama practices, we do not breathe correctly.
